Amanda Wyatt

Amanda Wyatt is a trained teacher with over 17 years’ worth of experience. She completed her first sewing project at the age of 13. After cutting out a checked wool skirt in a textiles lesson, she was so engrossed that she continued the work at home. To her surprise she finished it in one go, but when she proudly presented it to the teacher she was met with anger: "You silly girl”, the teacher said, “Now what will you do for the next six weeks?".

Undeterred, she went on to sew professionally. She now teaches weekly sewing workshops, and is the co-owner of a fabric and haberdashery shop and popular blog, The Sewcial Studio. When it comes to fabric she loves jersey, colour and quirky prints, but remains open trying all fabrics and styles.
