Deborah Simms

Deborah Simms

Deborah Simms sewing journey started early in life, where she experimented creating small toys (including a stuffed toy tiger that apparently wasn’t half as good as her sister’s attempt) and handbags with the guidance of her family. From humbe beginnings, Deborah went on to appear on Sewing Bee as a contestant and here on Sewing Quarter as a Guest Designer.   Deborah started her blog back in 2010 and gained experience in teaching during her time in Edinburgh, working with a local craft group. She now lives and teaches in Manchester, both with groups and 1-2-1 classes.   Deborah is style is all about practical and comfortable pieces which fit in with anyone’s wardrobe. After having her little girl, Deborah’s style changed from flared dresses to striped Breton tops and jersey dresses. Although she loves muted tones, she still has a love for all things colourful.
