Monday at 10am- Angela Pressley
Angela Pressley from Canterbury has a degree in Fashion & Textiles, and after spending 4 years in Italy freelancing, she went on to work in London for the likes of YSL, Donna Karen, Ralph Lauren, and Designers Guild and even a dance company that makes ballroom dancing costumes for dancers all over the world! In 2007 she set up her Kent based sewing school The Sewing Club. She is constantly on the lookout for new trends and admires lots of independent pattern makers such as Tily and the buttons and Sew me something.
Tuesday at 10am- Anna Drittler-Giles
You might recognise Anna Giles from our Facebook Fan page, where she is better known as Anna Sewing Nut. Anna has a passion for quilting and sewing, as well as the arts. She can play the clarinet, and tells us that her sewing room is packed full of musical instruments. Her passion for sewing began at school with embroidery and continues now with anything she can try her hand at - from bag making to toy making, dressmaking to quilting, Anna's nuts about it all!
Wednesday at 10am- Ellen Saunders
Ellen Saunders from Oldbury, West Midlands, is a full time specialist Speech and Language Therapist in the NHS. She loves making homewares and presents for friends, but dressmaking has always been her passion. Ellen loves designing her own clothes to suit her body type, taking inspiration from things she sees in magazines & on TV. Her mother gave her a sewing machine just before the first series of Sewing Bee started, which reignited her love for sewing, and she hasn't stopped since!
Thursday at 10am- Wendy Mathias
Wendy Mathias from Lubenham, Leicestershie, has worked for the NHS for nearly 20 years! She has always been a crafty person, mainly paper crafts and jewellery making. She was first introduced to quilting by her next door neighbour Caroline about 4 years ago and continued to learn how to quilt from Youtube! She has always done a little bit of sewing, mostly dress making with her mother as a child, and now she makes her own patterns or hack patterns. Her must have gadget is her Tula Pink rotary cutter and favourite colour palette is the patriotic red, white and blue!
Friday at 10am- Jenny McCreary
Dressmaker Jenny McCreary from Glasgow, graduated with an honors degree in Fashion Business in 2009 and started teaching sewing in 2010, for a friend who opened a craft cafe. She now runs her own business Sew Confident, at her Glasgow studio, alongside another franchise in Dundee. Jenny has a cat called George and said if she had to pick one colour palette or print for the rest of her life it would be coral, cream or leopard print!
